We came here, because we were here about 13-15 years ago. We couldn't find it, we thought they've moved, but I do remember it too well, it was by the sign Welcome to Wiscon-Dell, and that was the first time we even heard of that 'name'. We parked our car, in front of their restaurant, and we sat on a booth by the windows. I was told by our server, it must have been in the Downtown area, when we were here last, but never mind about that . . . he must have been in diapers STILL. LOL I remember the onion rings! I remember how great, it was THE BEST BBQ ribs I ever have eaten in my life! Back then, but this time I ordered the BBQ chicken, and side dish of Onion rings. I tasted hubby's flanked grilled salmon, he said it was delicious, but I like my chicken better, except we have enough to last for 2 more meals! Our server was very, very helpful, when I told him I needed foil instead of a box, because we have a cooler, and he understood. We've already checked in our Holiday Inn Express, but decided to go out & have dinner. What we didn't know, was, once we got inside our hotel, there was a page for 10% off @ Dave's, and we didn't use it. My question: would it be too late to ask our 10% off NOW, and not wait 15 years from now to use it, when we do our Road Trip to the Mid-America area again? Let me know!

The hostess wasn't very happy when we asked for a booth! Then she put us at the booth at the very top of the stairs. We had 3 kids- including an 18 month old sitting in a high chair. Then she never gave us silverware when we sat down. Our food came and realized no silverware after our waitress left. So we asked another worker and she went up to the hostess and came back and told us the hostess would be bringing it. Yeah right! Our waitress came back and she got us some! Our waitress did a good job! The food was good BQ but pricey!! Even another customer asked my husband- "Who would put you at the top of the stairs?" My husband explained to her that it was already an ordeal to sit here. We weren't gonna ask for a different place. We just made the Best of it!!

I have probably eaten at a dozen different Famous Dave's I always find the food to be tasty and consistent and this location was no exception. We had the all-american feast and everything we ate was tasty with the exception of the corn it was just a little overdone.

Food was very good. A little pricey for what you get. The cornbread muffins and baked potato soup beers the best!!!! Service could have been a little better but it wasn't awful. Would definitely eat there again.

Always great food at Famous Dave's and this time was no exception. First time I visited this FD's in Wisconsin but it's as good as the other ones I've visited. I really enjoyed the ribs although they could of been just a little more tender but the Macaroni and Cheese was awesome.

Getting a good meal in the Dells is legitimate challenge. They just don't have skilled operators around here and getting and keeping good skilled employees in a challenge is such a seasonal location. Famous Dave's on the 3 visits we've had had spit out some pretty solid BBQ, and i mean that even compared to some overhyped bbq places in Chi Town. a.) convenient back of building parking and street parking. b.) phenomenal kids menu with prices between 5.29-6.29 with side, drink, cookie. c.) we bitched that the A/C vent was freezing us. It was lowered within minutes. d.) Dinu, an eastern european server, a Dells staple, was effecient, fast, and warm enough. Burnt Ends with the pickles and pickled red onions were dyamite. Rib Tips were on the large side. Im not a fan. But were tender and not fatty. Wings were medium size and cooked well done as i asked. Their hot sauce rocked and i added some of Dave's house sauces to it which are phenom. Carrots plus celery is great. Their BBQ salad was legitimate. Fresh and tasty with your choice of meat. Their sides are real deal. Beans, Slaw, Corn Bread, and Fried Potato Wedges are 4 or 4.5 out of 5 stars. This may be The Dells and the Licensed Operators here may be Israeli businessmen, but Famous Dave's on the end of the Strip in the DELLS is a must for LUNCH OR DINNER.

Absolutely wonderful experience. I came in with my wife's family. There were 13 of us. 5 were kids the staff did an amazing job seating us and making sure everyone enjoyed the food. Great bbq. Thanks crew!

So, every time we go to the Dells we hit Famous Dave's. Sure, it's not the best bbq in the world, but we still usually like it. We've had a couple of hit & miss visits, but even the best places have off days. Unfortunately I've found more misses than hits lately. This past Saturday we stopped in for lunch & got the feast for 2. This is what we normally order since we usually get at least 2 meals each out of it & it's a great variety of food. First of all there were a couple of large families with small children running around the restaurant. I'm sorry, but the staff needs to tell these people that their kids can't be running around screaming at the top of their lungs. Of course the parents were looking at their children like they're the most adorable things ever. Clearly you're the only people on earth, so it's not like your kids are bothering other patrons or anything. So then we get our food. Dammit, the brisket, which is pretty much my favorite thing was really tough. Normally I'll ask for a substitute, but frankly I just wanted to eat & get out of there. The server was ok, but she wasn't great. We were both out of soda for awhile before she came to ask if we wanted a refill. I don't blame her though, I wouldn't want to hang out in that noisy dining room either. I think we might break with tradition next time & skip this place.

My boyfriend loved this place. I think I was more excited about all of the differant bar b que sauces. They have family meals that are huge (and a bit pricey , but compared to the amount of food you get kind of worth it). The food really taste good. The services was ok. Nothing to really say either way. I will caution however that you always get the 2 meat dinner instead of the one meat dinner. I made the mistake of getting the one meat dinner (8.99) instead of the two meat dinner (9.99) thinking oh im not that hungry. I recived one leg quater and a spon full of mac and cheese. While everyboddy else has 5-6 wings and rib tips and a bunch of fries. They had food to take home while I had to order extra stuff to feel full. NEwho it still taste good. oh

The food was ok. Nothing exceptional. We got the meal that served 2-3 and 4 of us had plenty with it. The pork ribs were not all that tender. The beef brisket was very good. Chicken was ok. Potato wedges were hot & crispy - very good. Coleslaw no one liked. Service was very good. Seated fast & food came out quickly. We liked the sweet & zesty sauce best.

For the Dells area, the prices are decent and so is the food. The service is friendly and fast. The group I traveled with never ate there before so the servers were helpful in assisting them make a decision. We got the food for pick-up in less than 20 minutes. I had the brisket, the BBQ chicken, and the ribs. Overall the experience is okay. I would eat here again if I needed a quick lunch/dinner to bring back to my hotel room.

you cannot beat their $10.49 lunch combo with 2 meats, a side and a corn bread muffin. If you try Wilburs revenge start with a small amount.

Loved Famous Dave's! This is a smaller venue than the one in Baraboo, but it's got character and the food is phenomenal. Great sandwich options for lunch. Filled me up for the better part of the day. The kids menu is definitely a great option! Can't beat the Oreo cookie as a small dessert for the kids!

Not too fond of this place. Hubby and visited WI Dells and figured famous Dave's is usually really good so we came here. The place was nearly empty and our service wasn't too great. Our server spoke extremely quietly and quickly. I felt very rushed from the moment I walked in the door. The food was mediocre but our ribs weren't even close to great. They were dry and definitely not "famous Dave's fall off the bone" ribs. The only reason I put 2 stars was because they were willing to take some off of our bill with no question. Still not worth the $40 we paid.

We don't have a Famous Daves in Chicago. I think there's some in the burbs but since I don't venture out to said burbs very often, I've never been. When I saw there was one in the Dells I figured it would be something fun to try so we went on in. The food was surprisingly awesome! I had the Memphis style babybacks and they were YUM! Far better than I was expecting. I also had the green beans and mac and cheese. My little dude was a big fan of both of those too. Our waitress was awesome (I think her name was Asia?). When my dude changed his mind about his sides, she hustled on down and was able to make the switch for us. She was super nice, we were big fans.

Notcho regular nachos were awesome! My fiance & I split a large batch which came out to $10. We couldnt even finish it. It was loaded with spicy chili beans, jalapenos, cheese, BBQ chicken, sour cream, tomatoes, and three different kinds of chips. Appearance was great, fantastic waiter, Tyler. :) If your looking for good food for a decent price, look no further. This is it.

Really friendly staff and quick attentive service. I had the chicken tenders with macaroni and cheese and fries as sides. The macaroni and cheese and a little spicy but really good. The rest of my food was great and we got corn muffins which are to die for! My cousins had the ribs and chicken with Wilbur beans which they also really enjoyed. Definitely would come again.

Get the nachos! Really great. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. Serving sizes were average; certainly not too big. We brought four kids and everyone left happy. Only negative was the extremely long wait for the food to show up: 30 minutes for the appetizer and 45 for the meals. But still, the food was great.

I can't believe any of the good reviews. First of all, this is not BBQ, tasted like it was baked in the oven and then someone poured sweet, gooey, gross store bought BBQ sauce all over it, and then poured some more all over it. Terrible crime against innocent ribs. We had ribs and burnt ends sandwich. Should say baked stew meat with BBQ sauce. Very clean restaurant and good service. Food was misrepresented.

Service amazing. Food great and fast. After a icy drive from Chicago and needing a meal before a Hockey game, we stopped here at Famous Dave's. When my husband pointed out the stoned guy smoking at the front counter, our waitress ran right over and kicked him out in the blink of an eye. Good job Famous Dave's!

I'm bias here. I've eaten a lot of good BBQ and this place is just so so. We ordered the following: Rack of Baby Back Ribs - the best of the ones we ordered. Tender but still on the bone. I would order this again. Rib Ends - so so. I'm not saying it should be charred more but not what I'm used to eating when you say Rib ends. BBQ Chicken - it was ok. Brisket - very disappointed. My favorite BBQ item and it was no good. Not juicy, too thinly sliced not enough (quantity) for the price they charged. Avoid ordering the brisket from here. Crispy chicken salad - no good Dave's Sassy BBQ salad - was surprisingly good. The salad dressing made it for this dish. The sides: Baked bbq beans - so so, I've had better Corn muffin - was ok. A little dry, but ok. Mac n Cheese - my son loved it. Cole Slaw - was ok Mash Potato - was ok Their BBQ sauce: Rich N Sassy - too sweet for me Devil's Spit - not as hot as it implies also too sweet. I'm not a fan, sorry. I'd rather go to Tony Romas and I hate that place. Go to Bludsoe in Compton, CA. Still the best BBQ I've tasted.

I love this place the cornbread and baby back ribs are amazing. Although it's expensive you get a lot of food for the money. The service was great but they messed up my order. But they fixed it.

Normally I would look forward to a stop here. Ribs were scrawny. I gotta nice discount, but sure would have not paid the full price for the meal. Rest of lunch was fine. Staff was nice.

Although a bit pricey for the portion size, the food (I had the brisket) and service were great. It was nice to have six different bbq sauces to experiment with...it's just too bad I ran out of food when I finally found the right mix.

Service was quick and staff was very friendly. I'm a big fan of BBQ ribs , and can easily eat a full slab of ribs easily without a problem , until ..........I visited Famous Dave's , I barely ate half of it. Food is EXCELLENT and is very fulfilling. Highly recommend and will be looking for a Famous Dave's when I return back to Chicago

Food is decent, service sucked really bad today. Portions are very good for the price. There's meal that you can choose 2 meats and a side and it comes with corn bread muffin and corn on the cob. Our food took over 45 minutes to come out, and the appetizer nearly made it out before our lunch came. Our waitress was never to be seen, so I asked the waiter who waited on the table across from us if he could find out when our appetizer was coming out. He rudely told me "First of all, I'm not your waiter how'm I supposed to know what you ordered. You like to drink a lot don't you, what, is it like your birthday or something? You're drinking a lot?" --!? Uh, first of all...our waitress doesn't exist, you could have told me you'd find her or find out about our food, and lastly I only had one beer and was no where near wasted and ask if i was getting trashed like a "birthday girl" judgment was uncalled for. Food was NOT good enough to save the service, that's a fact. I never had a problem with this place until now. tip: they have bags ice for 50cents if you need some for a cooler

I'm from Dallas and have no idea why I even thought I could get decent 'cue up here but I really wanted bbq so we pulled in. Once you get past all the bragging on the menu (and some pretty darn high prices for bbq, btw), the food comes and, oh well, i've had better - at every bbq place i've ever eaten. If you go, at least don't get the brisket. it was the worst brisket i've ever had. 'dave' claims you could drive through texas and not find better. i could drive 50 ft away from my house and find better. awful. the baked beans were very good, the cornbread muffin was too "muffin-y" rather than nice crisp outside cornbread-y. The fries were boring and were not fresh. Green beans very good. Ribs ok. Dave has won a lot of awards for his bbq. I'm guessing the many, many places we eat at at home just don't bother entering those contests...

Been there more than once. The Dells can be so outrageously expensive to eat out at. Famous Dave's is one of the few places where the prices haven't been jacked up 50%. Just down the block is Carvelli's. Great pizza there and not terribly expensive. Classy place too.

We ate here last night with our 2 kids. They were not very busy because well its not the busy season for the Dells but yet the waitress could not keep up with the few tables she had. I immediately ordered the kids their meals in hopes it would be out fast so I didn't have to listen the whining that they were hungry. Needless to say I think it took a little too long considering it was not that busy. My husband ordered a pork bbq sandwich and garlic mashed potatoes and I ordered a side salad with the "famous" chili. I was not impressed with how much food my husband got. I'm used to a bbq pork sandwich loaded with meat and there was barely any which was depressing for me because normally I don't feel bad stealing a bite but in this case I figured he would still be hungry so I didn't bother. He got a very small portion of the "garlic" mashed that he said tasted blah and had no garlic taste to them at all! My salad was good and so was the honey bbq dressing but I was not impressed with the chili. It was ok but I can make better at home and I have had better other places. I don't believe we will go here again.

I'm not the best person to review BBQ. I had the salmon, which was better than I expected. It came on a bed of onion rings and was cooked properly. Others at my table had a half slab of ribs, a cheese burger, and a crispy chicken salad. The salad was just OK. The dressing was the best part but the chicken was not very tasty. The service was a little slow, but the place was busy. There is a good selection of sides including slaw, spicy green beans, and cooked apples. The green beans were just spicy enough but a bit too slimy with bacon fat. Overall, not a bad choice if you are in the Dells and looking for BBQ.

Excellent BBQ...juicy meats and tasty sides. Attentive service. Authentic wall flair. Famous Dave sure gets around with his Photoshop friends.
